  1. Cleaning the cuff
    1. Cleaning the regular nylon or cotton cuff with bladder

Before the cleaning, the inflation bladder must be removed. The cuff may be cleaned by wiping the cuff with a damp cloth or it can be washed by using a dilute mixture of mild soap/detergent and water. Rinse well and afterwards, let the cuff air dried. Do not iron nylon-velcro fasteners.

  1. Cleaning the bladderless cuff

Remove the PVC tubes off the cuff, then place the PVC plugs into the cuff connectors to prevent the water flow into the cuff. The bladderless cuff may be cleaned by wiping its surface using a damp cloth with mild detergent (washable up to 60ᴼC). It also can be disinfected with ethanol.

  1. Cleaning the bladder

The inflation bladder and tubing shall be removed first from the cuff. The bladder may be cleaned by wiping its surface with a damp cloth. To help preserving it from cracking and discoloring, the bladder may be wiped with a soft cloth moistened with ethanol.

  1. Removing the bladder from the cuff

Gently pull the tube out through the clothclosing then pull the bladder out from the bladder compartment.

  1. Placing the bladder into the cuff

Roll the bladder vertically side up then put into the bladder compartment. Unroll it and make it fit precisely to the bladder compartment.

  1. Manometer gauge

The ABN™ Aneroid Sphygmomanometer has been carefully checked to assure reliability and accuracy (± 3 mmHg of its full scale) prior to shipment. Gauge accuracy can be checked by making sure that the needle rest within the printed square when the unit is fully deflated. If the needle points outside the zero square, the gauge will give inaccurate readings. Return the unit for recalibration by a qualified professional. It is recommended to examine the accuracy of measuring instrument every year and after maintenance/repair.
